The Hood Idol Tour I Need to Be Heard soundstage will be at the Frog in New Albany, Indiana, Sunday, May the 24th. This is a platform for rappers, singers, poets, comedians, and more to be heard. 

🎤 Competition Prizes & Awards

Three winners will be chosen at the “I Want To Be Heard” Showcase — 1st, 2nd, and 3rd place prizes will be awarded that night.

🏆 1st Place Winner

• All‑expenses‑paid trip to perform live at the 8th Annual Hip Hop Culture Awards in Hazlehurst, Mississippi Saturday Sept. 5th at Smooth Lounge and Grill (includes gas and hotel accommodations — $250 value).

• Radio play across multiple stations, including those airing The Trafiking Hour with Lex Luga, with potential FM rotation depending the winner.

• Free studio session — one hour of recording time at 16 Bars Recording Studio in Jackson, MS. (Files may be sent in for mixing if you can’t record onsite.)

• Free exclusive beat for your next project.

• Exclusive radio interview with Lex Luga “Da Record Breaker” and Live 100 WURM Radio.

• Magazine cover feature in Hood Idol Magazine.

• Television interview on Lit Lovely Lisa TV (Memphis, TN).

• Automatic qualification for the Grand Prize to be awarded at the Hip Hop Culture Awards on September 5  in Hazlehurst, MS — prizes valued at over $5,000, including:

  • $100 to $1000 cash (to be determined)

  • Possible music video shoot, studio time, playlist added, mulitple platform exposure, possible big stage performances. 

  • Beats, marketing, and promotional tools

🎯 Judging & Voting System Winners are determined by a combined scoring system — judges’ scores plus audience votes. Each audience member casts a vote, which is added to the judges’ totals.
